#7400/7480 (READ ALL) This is a Larkspur Blue 1957 Chevrolet BelAir convertible, nicknamed "Peggy Sue" and is believed to be the very first limited edition Ertl 1:18 car run made, created for Cars & Parts magazine back in 1992. It has a special decal on the hood like below...

and also the front of the box says item #7400. On the bottom of the box it says #7480 (regular blue issue) but it is covered with an all white label (as this car is). STORY: When I was in Dyersville, IA (Ertl's hometown) once back in about 1995, I did talk with an Evers Toy Store employee. He told me he worked in the Ertl warehouse when 500-700 cars were pulled out of stock for Cars & Parts, and re-labeled and decaled there. So were they made in China as #7400, or in Iowa as #7480 changed to #7400 placed on the front of the box? I don't know for sure, but it's the 1st  Ertl 1:18 LE no matter how made. The last one we had was in 2004, so these do not show up here very often. NOTE: Currently none are on ebay for sale, or anywhere else we could see, and we did search. At one time years ago they could pull $450 easy. You will likely not find one anywhere close to this price. Want a Peggy Sue?
