#50791 - is a real sharp looking Candy Apple Red 1965 Plymouth AWB sedan of Ed Halsey (still makes runs today) his AFX "EL TORO" car. It's still raced today and looks very close to our "original" 1:18 scale die cast altered wheelbase replica. The real car (sedan) was modified by the owner, to be similar to the factory built AWB hardtops. The NEW 1:18 SCALE PARTS that are different from the earlier hardtop version AWB cars we mades, are the new mold sedan body, front mounted fuel tank, no front turn signal lamps, silver painted bumpers front & rear (as the real car had painted fiberglass ones) plus a rear mounted parachute. This car is also fuel injected, and the first one with the front fuel tank on it.

This replica "EL TORO" has the Candy Red race day paint, also has a very detailed interior with correct single bucket seat, gauges built in the dash, a readable needle tach, correct reverse pattern automatic shifter on the column, side windows but no window cranks, plus a roll bar, no back seat, and a parachute pull handle, just like the real car had back then. Check out those cloth lap belts.

It also has a deep oil pan, 4 tube headers, automatic transmission, and the detailed chassis has the K-member moved forward, frame rails added, floor pans changed, stock gas tank removed, dual electric fuel pumps, real rubber fuel lines, real metal leaf springs, and the Dana 60 rear. The driveshaft rotates too...

This is one cool looking AFX sedan in the Candy Red paint, with those "snorting bull" graphics. The car is still being raced today, of course with a different motor and some other updates. We did this as a "back in the day" version, with just 996 of these produced world wide. From rear mounted parachute, to front mounted fuel tank, this 1:18 die cast (11" long) is so detailed it almost looks like a real drag car...

Power comes from a race ready fuel injected 426 Hemi with the "tall" injector stacks, fully wired and plumbed, with a coil mounted on the inner fenderwell, fuel injection pump tucked down by the core support, and real metal line going to the master cylinder on the detailed firewall.

These also feature an opening trunk, a big trunk mounted battery, and working suspension. The real car still exists today, and is raced at certain match races each year by it's owners, Bob Pickel (driver, builder, tuner) and Craig Handley.
