John Hagen was a standout drag racer in the Midwest. At a young age he started tuning and racing cars, it was in his blood. After much success racing other brands, in 1965 John purchased a 1965 Plymouth 426 Hemi Belvedere, and as his drag racing career continued its meteoric rise, Chrysler noticed and offered him factory assistance. John’s cars were always some of the best looking and best prepared cars at any event, and he claimed many Divisional Championships, National records, and class wins in Stock, Super Stock, Modified Production and Pro Stock. John was also a mentor to Greg Anderson, the 5 Time NHRA World Champion, and the winningest Pro Stock driver with 101 career Pro Stock wins.
