#HWY-50541SMSample - in 1/18 scale is this one of a kind collectible. Straight out of Jim Thoren’s personal die cast is this Factory Sample for the 1967 Plymouth Hemi Belvedere Sox & Martin Commemorative Edition Car. This car was sent to Supercar Collectibles from the factory for us to check the paint color, layout of the racing logos, and the information to be printed on the trunk by the factory before the final production run began.
There are normally three samples made…one for the factory, one for the company producing the model (Highway 61), and one for the dealer that commissioning the car (in this case Supercar Collectibles). There are few samples ever made and very few come up for sale. Don’t miss out on this one!
Some of the differences on this sample are that the front lower edge of the box says that this production run will be 1 of 1,350, but the top of the box under the white paper and the ends of the box both say 1 of 1,500. The list of Ronnie Sox’s accomplishments on the trunk is not printed on the car, but printed on paper and taped to the car. There may be some small paint imperfections, but no car is perfect and samples are no exception.
This is one rare Mopar that would look good in any collection!
